My name is Herry Utama. I use the innobushu name as my creative force. I've been actively making beats since 2006 and I have drawn inspiration from soul, funk, jazz, and my subconscious mind. I utilize this inspiration to craft sonic sounds with my own flavor.
Before I began music production, I used to love doing field recordings, experimenting audio and process them in various formats, both digitally and in analog ways. Sometimes I like to create errors during the process to venture out the imperfections as new tools for creative process and other possible outcomes. I love to play and record various short licks or melodies with different instruments and re-sample them into the tape and feed it back into my computer for arrangement.
When I was introduced into beat culture, that is when my music began to unravel and that's what led me into hip-hop production, where I can recall the sound of my early childhood years where my father used to play his music collection out of his tape decks. I then re-create those sounds by utilizing modern days production to engineer the sound that I wanted to hear. I feel there is a strong connection between my childhood music and the music that I am making today. Music has always been the biggest part of my life and I am grateful to be a part of the infinite creation that makes life more meaningful. I wish to continue to speak the universal language through my music and to ultimately connect and share my creativity with the rest of the listeners out there.
